Terms of Service

UpFeed Community Platform

These Terms govern your access to and use of UpFeed β€” a social media, short-form video, marketplace, live events, and community platform. By creating an account or using any feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Social FeedShorts & VideoMarketplaceLive EventsAI FeaturesCommunitiesCreator TiersAdvertising
Section 1

Acceptable Use β€” Community Standards

UpFeed is built to be a creative, inclusive, and safe community. All users are expected to maintain respectful conduct at all times. The following are strictly prohibited:

Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or targeted abuse toward any user or group

Posting illegal content including but not limited to CSAM, content promoting violence, or illegal substances

Spam, automated engagement manipulation, or impersonation of other users

Sharing private information about others without their explicit consent (doxxing)

Coordinated inauthentic behavior β€” fake accounts, bot networks, or manipulation campaigns

Explicit adult content β€” UpFeed is a general-audience platform. No NSFW or adult-only content

⚠️ Violations may result in immediate account suspension without warning, per Section 10.

Section 2

Content Ownership & Licensing

You retain ownership of all content you post on UpFeed. By posting, you grant UpFeed a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform.

You are solely responsible for content you publish β€” UpFeed acts as a platform, not a publisher

Do not post copyrighted material without proper authorization or a valid fair-use claim

UpFeed reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, without prior notice

Content flagged by our AI moderation system or user reports will be reviewed within 48 hours

Legal liability for user-generated content rests entirely with the originating user

Section 3

Marketplace, Seller Obligations & Payments

UpFeed provides an integrated marketplace for users to buy and sell physical and digital goods. All marketplace activity is subject to the following:

Platform Fee: A 10% commission applies to all completed sales β€” no exceptions. This fee is automatically deducted at checkout.

Seller Onboarding Required: All new sellers must complete the full 10-step seller verification form before listing any products. This includes identity verification, delivery method selection, and agreement to seller policies.

Delivery Methods: Sellers must clearly state whether they ship physical items or deliver digitally (via email/download link). Misrepresenting the delivery method is grounds for immediate store removal.

Physical Sellers: Must provide accurate shipping origin country, carrier, and handling time. False shipping information is a violation.

Digital Sellers: Must deliver purchased digital goods within 24 hours of sale. Failure to deliver constitutes fraud and will result in a permanent ban.

UpFeed is not a party to transactions β€” disputes are between buyers and sellers

Illegal goods, counterfeit items, or misleading listings will result in immediate store removal and account ban

Sellers attempting to circumvent the 10% fee (off-platform deals) will have their store access permanently revoked

πŸ’³ UpFeed Payments: UpFeed processes all marketplace payments through its own infrastructure. Funds are split automatically at checkout: 90% to the seller, 10% retained by UpFeed as a platform fee. Real payment processing requires backend integration β€” sellers will be notified when live payments are enabled. All payment data is encrypted and never stored client-side.

Section 4

Advertising on UpFeed

UpFeed displays advertisements to support platform operations, including ads served by third-party ad networks and external advertisers. By using UpFeed, you acknowledge the following:

Third-party ads: UpFeed may run ads served by third-party ad networks and external advertisers. All ads are clearly labeled as advertisements so they can be distinguished from organic content.

No data shared with advertisers: UpFeed does not share your personal data, location, IP address, browsing history, or in-app activity with third-party ad networks or advertisers. Third-party ad networks receive no personally identifiable information from UpFeed β€” we do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to ad companies. Ads are delivered without any user data leaving UpFeed.

Default ad frequency: By default, an ad appears in the feed roughly every 3 posts.

Reduce ads (opt-out): You can reduce ad frequency in Settings β†’ Ads. Turning on "Reduce ads" lowers the cadence so an ad appears every 5 posts instead of every 3. This is a frequency reduction, not a complete removal β€” ads keep UpFeed free to use.

Advertisers wishing to place ads on UpFeed must apply through our official Ad Sign-Up Form and agree to our Advertising Standards

UpFeed reserves the right to reject, remove, or modify any advertisement that violates our community standards or misleads users

Ad content must be appropriate for a general audience β€” no adult, gambling, or misleading advertisements

Multiple ad services: UpFeed may run ads served by different third-party ad services and networks, and the network serving your ads may change over time.

18+ ads: We do our best to keep 18+ / adult-oriented ads away from UpFeed, though third-party ad networks occasionally serve them before we can catch them.

Report ads: You can report any ad from its "Report" button β€” reports go straight to Bubba (our AI assistant) and the team for review.

πŸ“’ UpFeed runs third-party ads but shares no user data with advertisers. Reduce ad frequency any time in Settings β†’ Ads (every 5 posts instead of 3).

Section 5

Shorts, Live Streaming & Video Content

UpFeed Shorts and Live Streaming features are subject to additional guidelines:

All video content must comply with Section 1 community standards β€” this includes live streams in real time

Live streams are monitored for violations; UpFeed may terminate any stream without notice

Double-tap to like on Shorts is a platform feature β€” like-farming via automation is a ban-worthy violation

Shorts featuring copyrighted music must comply with fair-use principles

You are responsible for content appearing in your live streams, including guest contributions

Explicit content, adult material, or graphic violence is prohibited in all video formats

Section 6

AI Features & Generated Content

UpFeed provides AI-powered tools including image generation, face verification, content moderation, and AI art creation. By using these features:

You acknowledge AI-generated content may reflect biases present in training data β€” results are not endorsed by UpFeed

The AI face verification system stores only a boolean flag β€” no biometric data is retained

AI watermark detection may automatically flag posts containing AI-generated images β€” this is disclosed publicly

Using AI tools to generate deepfakes, non-consensual imagery, or to impersonate real people is a permanent ban offense

You own AI-generated content you create on UpFeed, subject to the licensing terms in Section 2

Section 7

Privacy & Data

UpFeed takes user privacy seriously. Here is exactly what we collect and how it's used:

Location Data: Only collected when you explicitly enable Location Sharing. Never sold or shared with third parties.

Biometric App Lock: Uses your device's native biometric system. No fingerprint or face data is transmitted to UpFeed servers.

Analytics: We collect usage data to improve the platform. This data is aggregated and not personally identifiable.

UpFeed will comply with valid legal requests from law enforcement but will not voluntarily share your data with any third party.

Section 8

Partner Program

UpFeed's Partner Program grants verified creators enhanced tools, visibility, and promotional support. Participation is subject to the following:

Eligibility: Applications are reviewed manually by the UpFeed team. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee approval.

Partner Benefits: Approved partners receive a verified badge, a custom profile banner, promo credits, and access to the Partner Dashboard with advanced analytics.

Dev Partners: Users with DEV status automatically qualify for partner benefits in addition to their developer access.

Promo Credits: Credits are issued at the discretion of UpFeed and may expire. They cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash.

Partner Conduct: Partners are held to a higher standard of conduct. Violations of these Terms may result in immediate revocation of partner status without refund of any credits.

UpFeed reserves the right to modify, pause, or terminate the Partner Program at any time.

🌟 Apply for the Partner Program via Settings β†’ Creator Programs β†’ Become a Partner.

Section 9

Verification Badges & Creator Status

UpFeed offers verification and monetization programs for qualifying creators:

Email verification is required to unlock the verified badge β€” fake verification or impersonation results in a permanent ban

Creator monetization eligibility is determined by UpFeed at its sole discretion

UpFeed reserves the right to revoke creator status at any time without prior notice if guidelines are violated

DEV status is granted only through official developer codes β€” claiming false DEV status is a ban-eligible offense

Section 10

Prohibited Content Categories

The following content categories result in immediate account action:

Adult/NSFW content β€” including OnlyFans, Fansly, or similar subscription links in any form

Promotion of self-harm β€” content encouraging or glorifying self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide

Extremist content β€” promotion of terrorism, extremist ideologies, or calls to violence

Misinformation β€” deliberately false information about public health, elections, or safety matters

Off-platform payment evasion β€” soliciting direct payments to avoid marketplace fees

Section 11

Account Suspension & Appeals

UpFeed enforces a graduated enforcement policy:

Warning: First-time minor violations may receive a warning and content removal

Temporary Suspension: Repeat violations or moderate offenses result in 1-hour to 30-day suspensions

Permanent Ban: Severe violations (illegal content, repeated offenses) result in permanent account termination

Banned users may appeal via the in-app support system β€” appeals are reviewed within 7 business days

Creating a new account to evade a ban is a violation that may result in device-level restrictions

Section 12

Limitation of Liability

UpFeed is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

UpFeed is not liable for user-generated content, marketplace transactions, or third-party links

We are not responsible for data loss, service interruptions, or security breaches outside our control

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to UpFeed in the prior 12 months

Section 13

Changes to These Terms

UpFeed reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do:

We will update the version date at the top of this page

Major changes will be communicated via an in-app notification or the Updates page

Continued use of UpFeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms

If you disagree with the updated Terms, you may delete your account at any time via Settings

Section 14

Login API β€” UpFeed as a Login Provider

UpFeed offers API Keys that allow any developer to integrate UpFeed authentication, posting, and analytics into their own applications β€” similar to how users can sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple.

Three keys per app: Each registered app receives a Login API key (for the Login with UpFeed button), a Posting API key (so your site can post to UpFeed on your app's behalf), and an Events API key (for the resilient Event Tracking SDK). Generate all three instantly from the API Keys page.

How it works (Login): Add a "Login with UpFeed" button to your site. A popup opens showing the requesting app and the user's UpFeed account (with a "Switch account" option). The user approves, and your site receives a private tracking ID + the approved profile fields via postMessage. The flow runs entirely in the browser β€” no backend required.

Self-serve keys: Anyone can generate a random, unique set of keys instantly from the API Keys page β€” no application or approval process needed.

Permissions (scopes): Apps request only what they need (profile, email, avatar, bio, followers, posts, coin balance). Apps must request only scopes their Client ID is permitted to use.

Exclusive scopes: Sensitive scopes such as Post Analytics are restricted to verified Partners and Devs. Standard Client IDs cannot request them. Partner/Dev status is verified at Client ID creation.

Private tracking IDs: Connected apps receive a stable pseudonymous tracking_id β€” never your real account ID, location, or IP address. This lets apps identify you in their own system without receiving sensitive identifiers.

Never shared with third parties: UpFeed never shares a user's location or IP address with any third-party app via the Login API. Only the explicitly approved profile fields and the tracking ID are transmitted.

Notifications: Each time you log in to a third-party app with UpFeed, you receive an in-app notification. All active connections are listed in Settings β†’ Connected Apps & Websites.

Revocable access: Users can view and revoke any third-party app's access at any time via Settings β†’ Connected Apps & Websites. Revoking immediately stops the app from receiving new data.

Rate limits: The Login API enforces rate limits to prevent abuse. Excessive or abusive authentication requests will result in API access suspension.

Data handling: Third-party applications receiving UpFeed login data are responsible for complying with their own privacy policies. UpFeed is not liable for how third parties handle data after receipt.

πŸ” Self-serve API Keys (Login, Posting, Events) and the consent popup are live now. Post Analytics scope is available exclusively to Partners & Devs.

Section 15

Event Tracking SDK β€” Resilient Data Sender

UpFeed offers an optional Event Tracking SDK (upfeed-events.js) that developers can embed in their own apps to send custom event data to UpFeed. The SDK is built for reliability:

Resilient by default: Every event is queued in the browser's local storage before sending. If a send fails (offline, network error, or server error), the SDK retries automatically with exponential backoff β€” up to 6 attempts β€” and events survive page reloads and crashes.

Offline-aware: Sending pauses while the device is offline and resumes automatically when connectivity returns.

Auto-updating: Like the Login button, the SDK is loaded from UpFeed's servers. Improvements roll out to every embedded instance automatically β€” no code changes required by the developer.

Developer-controlled payloads: The SDK transmits only the event type and data you explicitly pass to UpFeedEvents.send(). UpFeed does not automatically collect personal data through this SDK.

No sensitive data by default: The SDK never transmits location or IP address on its own. Do not send personally sensitive data through UpFeedEvents.send(); you are responsible for the contents of your payloads.

Linking to your Events API key: Events are associated with your app's Events API key β€” separate from your Login key β€” so they can be attributed and managed. Use the Events API key shown on the API Keys page.

Data handling: Developers embedding the SDK are responsible for complying with their own privacy obligations and obtaining any required user consent for the data they send. UpFeed is not liable for the contents of developer-sent events.

⚑ The Event SDK is provided "as is" for reliable client-side event delivery. It does not replace server-side validation for security-sensitive operations.

Built with care by the UpFeed Team

This document was last updated Aug 2026 (v11.0) to introduce third-party advertising with a Settings opt-out (ads every 5 posts instead of 3), the three API Keys per app (Login, Posting, Events), and the resilient auto-retry Event Tracking SDK.
